What Do I Receive After Passing?
You can request that a certificate be printed to your printer upon passing course test. If you are an AARC member, the course hours will be included in your CRCE transcript that is available online for your review. It may take up to 30 days for this course to appear on your transcript.
Still Afraid of On-Line Continuing Education?
I am concerned about the way that professional and credentialing agencies view the credibility of web-based continuing education.
Many state licensure boards have no restrictions on the number of hours that can be earned through online course work. Other states allow you to take a limited number of hours. Check with your state board to ensure these credits will be acceptable. We have contact information for all state licensure agencies.
The relevancy of course content in web-based continuing courses concerns me.
The educational content of all AARC-sponsored continuing education is developed by respiratory therapists from surveys of respiratory therapists who attend continuing education courses. These courses are presented by the AARC, the professional association of respiratory therapists and feature presenters with high name recognition.
I don't like to sit and stare at a computer screen.
Several of the courses in the AARC's CRCE Online contain video, text and slide all integrated into one presentation. The educational experience is similar to a video or live broadcast. But because you can pause, rewind, read, and listen all at once, the classroom experience is enhanced.
The lack of interaction with presenters and other learners concerns me.
There is a chat function within the CRCE Online system. The AARC may periodically organize viewing parties that will allow you to be online as others view the program and chat with them. Or organize your own, by recruiting several people to watch and learn from their PCs and chat while you watch.
