With the implementation of the new AARC Record publication schedule, I may not have an opportunity to announce the call for HOD nominations for Life

and Honorary Membership and for the Outstanding Affiliate Contributor Award prior to the March mailing of the official nomination solicitations. I would like to take this opportunity, however, to plant a few seeds.

Albert Einstein once said, "Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible." I believe this quote describes some of those individuals responsible for the early formation and development of our profession. It also reflects the efforts of many individuals who are struggling to determine the future of our profession. I encourage you to consult with your colleagues and boards in identifying those special individuals who have distinguished themselves with dedicated service to your affiliate, the AARC, and the respiratory care profession.

Forms will be distributed to affiliate presidents and HOD members in March soliciting nominations for Life and Honorary Membership and for the Outstanding Affiliate Contributor Award. Review the criteria for the award and take advantage of this opportunity to recognize someone for their hard work and dedication to the profession.
