Early birds take advantage of pre-courses

Kathleen Ververeli

Kathleen Ververeli presents The Role of Biologics in the Treatment of Asthma.

The Congress officially begins tomorrow, but folks who arrived today are getting the chance to attend one of two great pre-courses on key areas of concern.

“The Burden of Asthma and Emerging Therapies” is addressing the socioeconomic issues surrounding the condition and how they are affecting our health care system. Attendees are busy learning how sharper assessment skills and a better understanding of phenotyping can improve diagnosis of the condition, and they are also hearing presentations on pharmacologic management and the new role being played by biologics.

“Women in Leadership: Moving Forward” is providing women and men alike with an overview of the important role women play in the profession and the need to promote more women into senior leadership positions. Attendees will walk away with a greater understanding of the challenges women face in the workplace, what needs to be done to ensure women are being prepared for leadership roles, and how to leverage teams for success.
